Privacy Policy

ScreenDub ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use the ScreenDub platform at screendub.io (the "Service"), operated by Omprakash Sah Kanu, doing business as ScreenDub, based in Parker, Colorado, United States.

By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Account registration: name, email address, and password
  • Profile preferences: default language, narrator gender, and script mode selections
  • Payment information: processed entirely by Stripe, Inc.; we store only your Stripe customer ID and never receive or retain your card details
  • User Content: screen recordings and video files you upload, and all AI-generated outputs derived from them (scripts, narrations, exports, documentation)

Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage data: features used, pages visited, and export activity, collected via Aptabase
  • Device and browser information: browser type, operating system, and IP address
  • Log data: server-side request logs retained for security, error monitoring, and debugging

Cookies and Local Storage

  • Authentication session cookies (via Supabase) to keep you signed in across visits
  • Locally stored user preferences

We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking technologies of any kind.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Provide, operate, and improve the Service
  • Process your videos using AI (Google Gemini) and generate narration (Google Text-to-Speech)
  • Store and deliver your recordings, exports, and shared content
  • Process payments and manage your subscription through Stripe
  • Send transactional emails such as account confirmation, billing receipts, and service notifications
  • Analyze product usage to improve the Service via Aptabase
  • Respond to your support requests
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your User Content to train AI models. We do not sell your personal information.

3. How We Share Your Information

We share your information only as necessary to provide the Service. The following third-party providers process data on our behalf:

Google Cloud (Gemini, Text-to-Speech, Cloud Storage)

Purpose: AI video analysis, voice generation, and file storage

Data shared: Video files, generated scripts, audio, and exported files

Stripe, Inc.

Purpose: Payment processing and subscription management

Data shared: Email address and billing information

Supabase

Purpose: Database and authentication

Data shared: Account information and project metadata

Inngest

Purpose: Background job and async task processing

Data shared: Event metadata required to trigger processing jobs

Aptabase

Purpose: Product analytics

Data shared: Anonymized usage events

Vercel

Purpose: Web application hosting

Data shared: Request logs

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising purposes. We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights.

4. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account remains active. When you delete your account:

  • Your profile, projects, recordings, and all generated content are permanently deleted
  • Files stored in Google Cloud Storage are removed
  • Stripe retains billing records pursuant to their own data retention obligations
  • Aptabase analytics data is anonymized and retained per their data retention policy

You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting hello@screendub.io. We will process deletion requests within a reasonable time, subject to any legal retention obligations.

5. Your Privacy Rights

California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to: know what personal information we collect and how it is used; request deletion of your personal information; opt out of the sale of your personal information (we do not sell personal information); and be free from discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.

International Users (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including:

  • Right of access to your personal data
  • Right to rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")
  • Right to restriction of processing
  • Right to data portability
  • Right to object to processing based on legitimate interests

Our legal bases for processing your personal data are: performance of a contract (to provide the Service), legitimate interests (product analytics and security), and consent (where applicable).

6. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
  • Database encryption at rest (Supabase/PostgreSQL)
  • Row-level security enforced at the database level so each user can access only their own data
  • Private cloud storage with no public file access without time-limited signed URLs
  • PCI-DSS compliant payment processing via Stripe (we never handle card data)

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us immediately at hello@screendub.io and we will promptly delete it.

8. International Data Transfers

ScreenDub is based in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. By using the Service, you acknowledge and consent to this transfer.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or prominent in-app notice before the changes take effect. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
