Translate Video Narration Into Another Language

Last updated

In short

  • Choose a new narration language and ScreenDub creates a separate project for it.
  • Titles, chapter cards, and captions move to the new language too.
  • Your current project stays untouched and ready to open or export.
  • More than 80 languages, included on every plan.

You can translate your narration into another language. ScreenDub copies the current project into a new, standalone language project, then translates that current edited script. The source project stays exactly as it was, so every language remains available on your dashboard.

How to translate

  1. Open the project in the editor.
  2. Choose a different narration language and a voice for it.
  3. Select the button to create the new language project.
  4. ScreenDub copies the current project and translates its script.
  5. Review the new project, then export it whenever you are ready.

Everything written gets translated

A language change does not stop at the spoken lines. The video title, the chapter titles, the opening and closing cards, and the captions all move to the new language too. You do not end up with English titles over Spanish narration.

Review the result

Read the translated script before you export. You can edit any line, just like the original. This lets you fix names, terms, or tone for each market.

Supported languages

ScreenDub supports more than 80 languages, so you can present to most markets from one source.

Translation and your plan

Translation to every supported language is included on all plans, free and paid. See the pricing page to compare plans.

Common questions

Do I lose my original language?

No. Translating creates the narration in the new language while your source video stays the same. You can review and edit the translated script before you export.

Will the new language need new minutes?

Yes. Generating narration in another language creates new audio, so it uses your monthly minutes like any other narration.

Next steps

Turn your project into a finished file in Exporting & rendering.
