Corrections & re-narration
Last updated
You can fix narration without redoing the whole video. ScreenDub splits each video into segments, and you edit one segment at a time. Only that part changes.
How to correct a segment
- Open the project in the editor.
- Find the segment you want to change.
- Edit the script for that segment.
- Re-narrate it. ScreenDub generates fresh audio for that segment alone.
The rest of the video stays exactly as it was.
The first correction is free
The first time you re-narrate a segment, it is free. It does not use your monthly minutes. So you can polish a line without worrying about your quota. If you re-narrate that same segment again later, the new audio counts toward your minutes like any other narration.
When to use it
- Fix a name or a term.
- Reword a step that is not clear.
- Adjust the tone of a single line.
Want a bigger change? You can also switch the voice or the script style and regenerate. See Choosing a voice & accent and Script styles.
Common questions
Does editing the text alone cost minutes?
No. Editing the words is free. Minutes are only used when ScreenDub generates the spoken audio for a segment.
What counts as the free correction?
The first re-narration of each segment is free. Every segment gets one. Later re-narrations of the same segment use your minutes.
