Getting started
Quickstart

This guide takes you from sign up to a finished video. Most first videos take about ten to fifteen minutes start to finish, and most of that is ScreenDub working, not you. The steps are the same whether you record your screen or upload a deck.
Steps
- Create a free account. Sign up with your email. No credit card is needed. The Free plan includes 10 minutes of narration each month. That is enough for a real demo or guide.
- Start a project. Choose one of two paths. Record your screen and pick a tab, a window, or your full screen. Or upload a PowerPoint or PDF deck.
- Add a few details. You can set a narrator name and handle, and add an intro and conclusion hint. These shape the script. They are optional, but they make the narration feel more like you.
- Let ScreenDub build the narration. It writes the script and generates the speech on its own. You do not need to write anything. You will see the project move through a few steps, then land on ready.
- Review in the editor. The video is split into segments. Read the script for each one and re-narrate any segment that needs a change. The first correction on each segment is free.
- Pick your voice and style. Choose a voice and accent, then a script style to set the tone. You can change these and regenerate the narration.
- Export. When it looks right, export the video. You get a standard MP4. The Free plan adds a small watermark. Paid plans export with no watermark.
Tip: set your default voice and narration language once in settings. Then every new project starts the way you want. See Defaults.
