Choose an AI Voice and Accent for Your Video
Last updated
In short
- Thirty voices, thirteen female and seventeen male, each named for its tone.
- The narration language sets both the language and the accent.
- Preview any voice before you commit, and change it at any time.
- Every plan includes every voice, accent, and language.
The voice reads your script aloud, and you control how it sounds. Preview a voice before you commit, and change it at any time.
Pick a voice
There are 30 voices: 13 with a female sound and 17 with a male sound. Each name hints at the tone, so you can pick by feel rather than by trial and error.
- Female: Confident, Warm, Bright, Breezy, Soft, Youthful, Easy-going, Cheerful, Smooth, Clear, Lively, Mature, and Gentle.
- Male: Informative, Friendly, Upbeat, Precise, Authoritative, Excitable, Firm, Breathy, Relaxed, Smooth, Gravelly, Narrator, Assured, Even, Direct, Casual, and Energetic.
New projects start on Confident or Authoritative depending on the narrator gender you chose. Both are neutral, professional voices that suit most videos.
Language and accent
The narration language sets both the language and the accent of the voice. ScreenDub supports more than 80 languages. For widely spoken languages, you can choose a regional option to change the accent, such as US or UK English.
Preview before you choose
Play a short sample of any voice before you decide. The sample uses your selected language, so you hear it the way your viewers will.
Change the voice anytime
You are not locked in. Switch the voice and regenerate the narration whenever you want. You do not need to record again. Some languages adjust the wording when the voice gender changes, so the narration stays grammatically correct.
Voices and your plan
Every plan includes every voice, accent, and language. There is nothing to unlock. To compare plans, see the pricing page. You can also set a default voice so new projects start with it. See Defaults.
