Sharing & export
Download and Share a Finished MP4 Video
Last updated
In short
- Your finished video is a normal MP4 that plays and uploads anywhere.
- Subtitles download alongside it if you chose that option at export.
- Public share pages are not available at the moment.
- Downloading changes nothing. The project stays in your dashboard.
Your finished video is a standard MP4. Download it and put it wherever it needs to go: YouTube, LinkedIn, your help center, a Slack message, or a slide.
Download the file
Export from the editor and the file downloads to your computer when the render finishes. See Exporting & rendering for the quality options.
Download subtitles too
If you chose the separate-subtitle option at export, you get a subtitle file alongside the video. Upload both to a platform like YouTube and viewers can turn captions on and off themselves. See Captions.
Where the file plays
The MP4 is a normal video file with H.264 video and AAC audio. It plays in every browser, on phones and desktops, and uploads cleanly to every major platform. There is nothing ScreenDub specific about it.
Share links
Public share pages are not available at the moment. Download the video and share the file, or upload it to the platform your viewers already use. To learn how your files are stored while they are with us, see Privacy & your data.
Your project stays put
Downloading does not remove anything. The project stays in your dashboard, so you can come back, change the wording or the look, and export a fresh copy. On the Free plan each video includes 3 exports; paid plans re-export without limit.
