Getting started
Manage Video Projects in ScreenDub
Last updated
In short
- Every video you make is a project, and the dashboard lists them all.
- A project holds the source, the script, your edits, and the export.
- Search, filter, rename, and delete from the same page.
- Projects stay after you export, so you can always re-edit and export again.
The dashboard is your home base. Every video you make is a project, and the dashboard lists all of them in one place.
What a project is
A project holds everything for one video. That includes:
- The source. This is your screen recording or your uploaded deck.
- The generated script and the narration.
- Your edits, such as re-narrated segments and background music.
- The exported video.
Each new recording or upload becomes its own project. Nothing is mixed together.
Creating a project
There are two ways to create one.
- Start a new screen recording.
- Upload a new PowerPoint or PDF deck.
Both start from the dashboard. See Recording your screen or Uploading a deck.
Opening and editing
Click a project to open it in the editor. From there you can read the script, re-narrate segments, add music, and export. See The editor for more.
Finding your videos
Projects stay in your dashboard after you export. You can open one anytime to re-edit it or export it again. Your work is not lost when you leave the page.
- Search by title to find a project in a long list.
- Filter by status to see only what is still processing, or only what is ready.
- Rename a project at any time. The title also becomes the opening title card.
- Delete a project to remove it and its files for good.
Storage
Your source files, narration audio, and exports are kept in secure cloud storage on every plan, with no storage cap. Delete a project anytime to remove its files.
See the pricing page to compare plans.
