Editing your video

Add an AI Presenter to a Product Video

Last updated

In short

  • AI Presenter adds a short talking-head introduction before your real product recording begins.
  • Open Options, choose AI Presenter, generate a clip, then preview it before deciding whether to use it.
  • The presenter uses a short version of your opening narration and hands off to your normal walkthrough.
  • Each generation uses one minute from your monthly narration time.

AI Presenter gives a product video a polished on-camera opening without asking anyone on your team to record one. ScreenDub creates a short talking-head clip from the project's opening narration, then dissolves into the real screen recording. The presenter introduces the video. Your actual product walkthrough still does the teaching.

When to use it

AI Presenter works best when a viewer needs a moment of context before the product appears on screen. Use it for launch announcements, sales follow-ups, onboarding overviews, and training introductions. For a one-question support answer, get to the product screen immediately instead.

Generate an AI Presenter

  1. Open a finished project. Your project needs an opening narration line. Create or regenerate the narration first if the project does not have one yet.
  2. Open Options. In the editor, choose AI Presenter from the Options panel.
  3. Generate the presenter. Select Generate AI Presenter. ScreenDub shortens the opening into one natural sentence and generates a short talking-head introduction. This can take a few minutes. You can keep editing while it renders.
  4. Preview the result. When the clip is ready, play it in the panel. Listen to the delivery as well as watching the video.
  5. Choose whether to use it. Turn on Use in this video to replace the normal opening with the presenter. Turn it off at any time to keep the normal opening instead.

What the presenter says

The presenter uses the project's opening narration, tightened into one short sentence that fits the introduction. The best opening states the outcome for the viewer. “By the end of this, you'll have your first workspace ready” is stronger than a greeting or a list of features.

  • Keep the opening focused on one outcome.
  • Use the same real product terms that appear in the walkthrough.
  • Let the recording supply the detailed instructions after the introduction.

Preview, regenerate, or turn it off

Generating and using a presenter are separate choices. Watch the completed clip before you decide. If you want another version, select Generate again. If you prefer the normal narration intro, clear Use in this video. The rest of the project stays unchanged either way.

Minutes and export

Each AI Presenter generation uses one minute from the monthly narration time included in your plan. Once you choose to use the clip, export as usual. The presenter plays at the start, then the video continues with your normal recording and narration.

Common questions

Does AI Presenter replace my whole video?

No. It replaces only the opening. The short talking-head introduction dissolves into your real screen recording, which remains the main part of the video.

Can I watch it before I use it?

Yes. The completed clip appears in the AI Presenter panel with controls so you can preview it before turning on Use in this video.

Can I go back to the original intro?

Yes. Clear Use in this video at any time. The generated presenter remains available in the project, but the normal introduction is used instead.

Why is Generate AI Presenter unavailable?

The project needs an opening narration line first. Generate or regenerate narration, then return to AI Presenter in the Options panel.
